On Cloud 9: How Cloud Computing is Changing the Way We Work

May Newsletter from corecubed

Mobility has become the norm and the mantra. We can travel where we want, find information anytime from anywhere and, thanks to cloud computing and the plethora of mobile devices on the market today, we can work where we want, when we want. The cloud is changing the way we do business, allowing an increasing number of companies, including corecubed, to break free of traditional business models and have employees working from their location of choice, wherever that happens to be.

So, what is cloud computing?

Essentially, working in the cloud allows users to access and store data on a distributed network available from anywhere--not just in the office. The cloud computing phenomenon allows for better mobility, improved collaboration and the ability to share resources no matter where you are.

Versatile Devices

There is an abundance of mobile devices on the market to help individuals live life and work on the go. One device that corecubed employees use the most is the iPad. Since it came on the scene in 2010, businesses have been finding ways to use the iPad, along with cloud computing, for business communication, reporting, scheduling, and project management. Our employees use their iPads to communicate with other team members, edit collaborative working documents, assign and generally manage projects from wherever they are. Plus travel is easier without a heavy laptop and battery to lug around.

The HP Slate, Motorola Xoom, and the Samsung Galaxy Tab are just a few of the other mobile tablets that are gaining popularity with businesses. On a smaller scale, smart phones have been helping users connect to the cloud and work on the go for years. iPhones, Blackberries, and Androids have allowed us to work, play, and keep in contact for years and, in this era, with more and more devices in development, we can be sure that working in the cloud is the where the future of business is going.

Upcoming Webinar

Working in the Cloud: Using a Tablet Computer Instead of a Laptop

One of the most anticipated technologies ever - the iPad and the latest tablet computers - is being used today more and more by businesses to replace bulky laptops. In a category all its own, many still wonder what the iPad can accomplish in business, and corecubed’s webinar next week will explore exactly what this tool brings to the table.

Leading the way (and this upcoming webinar), two mainstays of corecubed's Internet marketing team, Will Chatham, Web Manager, and Creative Director, Tammy Brown, use iPads to stay on top of all aspects of their work from wherever they may be, at any given time. Next week, come with questions for these two techies about how this easy-to-carry, remote computing device can make day-to-day business better, more efficient, and EASY to tote wherever one happens to be.

Join Tammy and Will for this FREE webinar on June 21, 2011 at noon Eastern Time, and learn what you've been missing in the cloud! Click here to register.

*Moderated by Merrily Orsini, a dedicated iPad user as well.
